Stronger Repair Patches – Elastic & Self-Adhesive

These are stronger elastic and self-adhesive repair patches for repairs that need to withstand more than a standard thin repair patch.

They are designed to quickly and easily repair holes and tears on many different items, such as tents, airbeds, overalls, pool covers, boots, boat covers and horse rugs.

The material is elastic, which allows the patch to flex and follow along better when the surface moves or is subjected to tension. This makes them particularly practical on materials that are not completely smooth, or where the repair needs to withstand greater stress.

In our own tests, these patches have been among the strongest self-adhesive repair patches we have tried. However, how long a repair lasts always depends on the material, wear and tear, placement, and how carefully the patch is applied.

Choose a patch or roll

The product is available as ready-cut patches or on a roll in two lengths.

Patch 7 × 7 cm
Best suited to smaller holes and tears up to approximately 3 cm. A good choice when you want a ready-cut piece that is simple to use.

Quarter roll, 7.5 × 93 cm
Suitable when you want to cut the material to your own size and shape. A good choice for longer tears, several smaller repairs or when a ready-cut patch is not large enough.

Full roll, 7.5 × 375 cm
Suitable when you need plenty of material, want to repair larger or longer areas of damage or would like to keep material at home for multiple repairs.

The material is elastic and self-adhesive. This allows the patch to flex and follow along better when the surface moves or is subjected to tension.

Cleaning wipes and guide included.

1. Clean the surface thoroughly
   Clean the surface to be repaired. This is particularly important if the surface is dirty, greasy or waterproofed.
2. Let the surface dry
   The surface needs to be completely dry before you apply the patch.
3. Cut a suitable piece
   Cut the patch so that it covers the hole or tear with plenty of margin all around.
4. Round the corners
   Rounded corners reduce the risk of the edges starting to lift.
5. Peel the patch off the backing paper
   Peel away the backing paper and avoid touching the adhesive side with your fingers if possible.
6. Place the patch over the damage
   Apply the patch centrally over the hole or tear.
7. Warm gently with a hairdryer
   If possible, blow a hairdryer on full power for a few seconds directly onto the patch.
8. Press hard and evenly
   Press firmly with your thumbs over the entire patch. Make sure any air bubbles disappear, and be extra thorough along the edges.
9. Use immediately – or wait if you can
   The repair can be used straight away, but if you can wait 24 hours, the result will be significantly better.

These repair patches are strong, elastic and practical for tougher repairs, but durability will always depend on the surface, placement, wear and tear, and application.

On a boat cover or other material where the repair sits relatively protected, the result can be very long-lasting. On a child’s winter overall, especially on the knees or other exposed areas that are frequently bent, scuffed, and perhaps dried in a drying cabinet, the repair may be more affected by use.

Cleaning is crucial. If the surface is waterproofed, dirty or greasy, the glue may stick poorly. Please use the included cleaning wipe and let the surface dry completely before applying the patch.

Round the corners, press hard and make sure there are no air bubbles left under the patch. The edges are often the most vulnerable part of a repair.

If you can wait 24 hours before putting any stress on the repair, the glue will have a better chance to bond properly.

What is the difference between a patch and a roll?
The patch is best suited for smaller holes and tears. The roll is better when you want to be able to cut the length yourself, for example for larger damage, longer tears, or if you want to keep material at home for multiple repairs.

What size of damage are the patches suitable for?
The ready-made patches are best for smaller holes and tears, up to about 3 cm. For longer tears, the roll is often a better choice.

What roll sizes are available?
The longest roll is 7.5 × 375 cm. Shorter roll variants may also be available in the range, depending on what is currently in stock.

Can I use them on tents and airbeds?
Yes, they can be used on items like tents and airbeds, provided the surface is thoroughly cleaned and dried before application.

Do they work on heavier materials?
Yes, they are made for tougher repairs and can also adhere to certain surfaces with a slightly coarser structure.

Is the repair permanent?
That depends on the material, wear and tear, and where the repair is located. On some surfaces, the repair can be very durable, while more exposed areas may need to be seen as a solution for the season or a limited time.

Can I use the item or garment straight after the repair?
