The soles of smart shoes can quickly become scratched and worn, particularly when the shoes are worn outdoors. This self-adhesive sole protector allows you to cover and protect the underside before it becomes unnecessarily worn.
The material is cut to match the shape of the shoe and attached directly to a clean, dry sole. Once the protection has become worn, it can be removed and replaced with a new piece.
The sole protector is particularly suitable for dance shoes, occasion shoes and other smart footwear mainly worn indoors. It can also be used outdoors, although it will wear more quickly on rough surfaces such as asphalt and gravel.
The sheet measures 10 × 50 cm. Measure the part of the soles you want to cover before ordering, as the amount required will depend on the size of the shoes and whether you want to protect the entire sole or only the areas exposed to the most wear.
- Clean the shoe sole thoroughly and make sure it is completely dry before you begin.
- Measure the sole and cut out a piece slightly larger than the area you want to cover.
- Peel back a small section of the backing paper and position the sole protector on the shoe.
- Gradually remove the remaining backing paper while pressing the material into place.
- Press firmly over the entire surface so the protector makes good contact with the sole.
- Turn the shoe over and carefully trim away any material extending beyond the edges.
Good to know
In our tests, the sole protector provided good, long-lasting protection when used indoors. It can also be used outdoors, but it will wear considerably more quickly on asphalt, gravel and other rough surfaces.
Check the protector regularly and replace it when it begins to wear through or lift around the edges.
When the sole protector needed replacing in our tests, it could be removed without obvious adhesive marks. The result may, however, be affected by the material of the shoe sole and how long the protector has been attached.
