Collars, cuffs and the inside of caps are some of the places where sweat, skin oils, make-up and hair products quickly leave marks. The self-adhesive collar protector creates a soft layer between the skin and the fabric, helping clothes and hats stay clean for longer.
The protector works well on shirts and blouses, as well as light-coloured jackets, blazers, workwear and other garments with collars that easily become marked. It can also be attached inside cuffs or over the sweatband inside a cap or hat.
The collar protector is made from soft non-woven material with a self-adhesive backing. It is easy to cut to size and attach. Once the protector becomes dirty, simply peel it off and replace it with a new one.
Choose a roll or pre-cut strips
- Roll: 8 metres long and 2.5 cm wide. Cut the length you need.
- Pre-cut strips: 20 strips – 10 white and 10 black. Each strip measures 23.5 × 3.7 cm.
Laglappen tip: On a white or light-coloured collar, allow the white protector to extend a few millimetres above the inside of the collar and fold it over the edge. This also protects the area closest to the skin, which is often the first part to become marked. Press the protector carefully along the fold so that it lies flat. Use a black protector in the same way on dark garments.
- Make sure the fabric is dry and free from lint.
- Cut the protector to the required length if using the roll.
- Remove the protective backing and attach the protector to the inside of the garment or cap – not directly to the skin.
- Press the protector firmly over the entire surface.
- Carefully peel it off once it becomes dirty and replace it with a new one.
Remove the collar protector before washing, dry cleaning or ironing the garment.
