Mend smaller holes, tears, and worn areas with a ready-cut round patch. The circles are already cut out, so you don’t need to cut your own pieces. Place a patch over the area and iron it on.
The patches are made of polyester and adhere particularly well to cotton. They can also work on several synthetic materials, depending on the material composition. Choose between black, navy, blue, white, army green, and grey – for a repair that blends in or stands out.
- Place the patch where you want to mend.
- Place baking paper directly on top of the patch as protection between it and the iron.
- Set the iron to three dots and turn off the steam. Press firmly for about 40 seconds.
- If possible, turn the garment inside out and repeat the pressing from the back.
- Let the repair rest overnight before the garment is used or washed.
How well the patch adheres may vary depending on the material’s composition, surface treatment, and how much the area is exposed to stretch, wear, and washing. On certain materials and particularly vulnerable areas, you can reinforce the patch with a few stitches around the edge.
The garment should not be tumble dried after the repair.
