Has your wetsuit developed a small hole or tear, or does a seam need strengthening? This iron-on strip is designed for simple repairs to neoprene and is a practical option when you want to repair or reinforce the material without sewing.
The strip is made from two layers of thin jersey fabric and a layer of effective heat-activated adhesive. This makes it flexible, slightly stretchy and particularly useful on materials that need to move a little during use.
The strip is ideal for smaller wetsuit repairs, but it can also be used on cycling shorts and other synthetic materials that are suitable for heat application. Its long, narrow shape also makes it useful for strengthening seams, covering narrow tears or cutting into smaller pieces as required.
In our tests, the repair strip adhered well to neoprene and withstood repeated stretching and light abrasion.

- Cut a suitable piece from the strip.
- Round off the corners where possible. This helps reduce the risk of the edges beginning to lift.
- Place the shiny side against the wetsuit or material you want to repair.
- Set the iron to between 1 and 2 dots. We recommend starting at 1 dot the first time you use the strip.
- Press the strip into place using the tip of the iron, working centimetre by centimetre.
- Continue until you see a thin, shiny outline around the strip. This is the adhesive melting slightly beyond the edge and indicates that the strip has bonded.
- Leave the repair overnight before using the item where possible. It can be used immediately, but the bond will improve if the adhesive is allowed to set properly.
If the hole goes all the way through the material, you can repeat the process on the reverse side.
The strip adheres best directly to neoprene or to a material where the heat-activated adhesive can make good contact with the surface.
If your wetsuit has a coloured or printed surface coating, the strip may bond to the coating rather than the underlying material. This can cause the strip to come away together with the surface layer.
Test on a small, less visible area if you are unsure how the material will react to heat. Not all synthetic materials can withstand the same iron temperature.
Do not use excessive heat. Start carefully and work gradually, particularly when repairing a material you have not tested before.













Superb!!! Just be careful with the fabric when ironing it on. I use them on all my training leggings, on the seam at the back by the bottom.
