This simple measuring tool, also known as a vernier calliper, is handy to keep at home when an ordinary ruler is not enough. It can measure the external diameter, internal diameter, thickness, length and depth of objects up to 155 mm.

External measurements: Place the larger jaws around the object and gently slide them together.

Depth: Place the end of the calliper against the opening and extend the depth rod until it reaches the bottom.
Keep the tool straight and allow the jaws to rest lightly against the object before reading the measurement on the scale.
