Discoloured grout can make a kitchen or bathroom look more tired than it really is. With a grout pen, you can easily freshen up the grout and give your tiles a cleaner, more cared-for look.
The pen is used directly on the grout and is a practical choice when you want to cover discolouration without replacing the grout itself. The colour is water-based, odour-free and dries in around 60 minutes.
One pen covers approximately 50–70 metres of grout when the grout width is 2–3 mm. Two different tips are included: one for narrower grout lines and one for wider grout lines, so you can choose the one that fits best.
Size and contents
- 1 grout pen
- 2 tips for different grout widths
- Covers approximately 50–70 metres of grout at a grout width of 2–3 mm
- Drying time: around 60 minutes
- Water-based and odour-free colour
- Clean the grout thoroughly and remove dirt. Vacuuming the grout before you start is a good idea.
- Shake the pen with the cap on.
- Remove the cap.
- Turn the pen so the tip points upwards and gently press the tip down with your thumb. This helps remove any air bubbles.
- Turn the pen the other way, with the tip facing down, and press the tip vertically against a firm surface several times so the colour begins
- to flow into the tip.
- Colour along the grout line using steady strokes.
- Leave the colour to dry for around 60 minutes.
The grout pen is made for refreshing discoloured grout. It does not replace damaged, cracked or missing grout.
If you get colour on the tiles, you can wipe it away with a cloth before it dries. On glossy tiles, excess grout colour can usually also be carefully scraped away after it has dried.
Choose the tip that best suits the width of your grout line. The narrower tip is suitable for smaller grout lines, while the wider tip makes the job easier on wider grout lines.
